As Rihanna once said ‘she can beat me but not my outfit’.
That is what fashion is for me sometimes, while also being the truest form of self-expression for me, it has on countless occasions acted as a shield, a shield from showing how vulnerable or scared I was or still am moving to a new country, meeting new people, making new friends.
Even if it’s scary moving to a new place like London, I believe studying fashion here is the right choice for me and the first step in the right direction, because London for me is a place with no boundaries, limits or cages while I do sound like a naive fashion student saying this, it is how I see London, a sky with no limits.
London in itself is a blend of countless diverse cultures, which makes me quite happy because that means I won’t have to diminish my own culture or leave my culture behind to fit in but would rather be allowed to embrace it in a different and new light.
